Description
WE PROVIDE INJURED VETERANS WITH SERVICE DOGS AT NO COST.
Our mission is to provide professionally trained service dogs at no cost to veterans who have suffered debilitating injury or illness while in service to our country. Our goal is to use rescue dogs at every opportunity, thus saving two lives at once. In order to fully realize our mission without adding financial burden, we also provide a continuum of free support that covers all food, veterinary care, and pharmaceuticals for the life of the dog.
100% OF THE COST OF ACQUIRING, TRAINING, FEEDING, EQUIPMENT AND VETERINARY CARE FOR THE DOG IS COVERED BY DOGS FOR OUR BRAVE. TO RESCUE THE DOGS THAT GO ON TO SERVE. TO HONOR OUR PATRIOTS. TO CHANGE LIVES.
WE’RE MAKING LIFE BETTER FOR DOGS, TOO.
We rescue all of our dogs and put them through a comprehensive training program before pairing them with our service members. It’s a new life for both the service member and the dog.

Meet the Executive Director
Instinctively, April is drawn to serving others whether that is directly or through supporting an organizational team. In transitioning from overseeing a Memory Care community to leading Dogs for our Brave, she has loved learning how the brain and behaviors of humans and dogs are similar when faced with certain situations.
April comes from generations of patriots who fought for the
... more reedoms we enjoy every day. This drives her passion to spread the mission and grow the Dogs for our Brave organization.
Freedom isn’t free so to be able to serve and save wounded warriors while saving dogs is priceless.
Saving two lives at once- saving the life of a veteran by saving the life of a dog.
April and her husband Brian have two dogs- Fancy and Ellie Mae. They love to travel, spend time with their friends and families, and continue to find ways to give back to the community.
